Being self taught, my work has always been informed by<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the thrill of discovery and experimentation. As a result, I have worked with many media over the years- from leather and bone to plaster<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0and concrete- but am currently focused on the disciplines of welding and stone carving; combining metal and stone with elements of light.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 The object of my work is to create beauty. The high desert where I live is renowned for its introspective peace and majestic<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> beauty; my work is directed by and reflects the resonance of my surroundings. The mostly abstract forms I create are less about<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> recreating what I see than expressing the emotional interaction between all my senses and the world around me.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 My focus is bent on the sub-corporeal forces that lie just beneath the surface of form. Forces that are felt rather than<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> seen, such as balance, growth, the pull of gravity and sub-atomic whirlings, are constantly at play in seemingly inanimate<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 objects. The pulse of life beats through everything.
